Description
Climbing the Casa Blanca Volcano is an excellent way to get started in mountaineering, along a mountain of gentle forms and wide panoramas in the heart of Puyehue National Park. Its privileged location offers views of the Osorno, Puyehue, Calbuco and Puntiagudo volcanoes, together with the lakes and forests that characterize southern Chile’s Andes. The ascent runs across open slopes that, depending on the season, alternate stretches of volcanic rock, snow or both surfaces. Progress is continuous and lets you get used to the rhythm of a mountain day, an ideal setting to gain experience in this kind of activity under the lead of a professional guide. From the summit, at 1,990 meters, you take in a broad view of Puyehue National Park and the volcanic chain of the Los Lagos Region.
